Nellie O'Reilly is On the Ballot

Nellie is ON the ballot for 2026!

No write-in this time. Just find my name and fill it in.

Two years ago, you had to write my name in by hand — and St. Croix, you showed up and learned how. This time it's simple: my name is printed on the ballot. I'm running as an independent for one of St. Croix's seven seats in the 37th Legislature — no party bosses, no slate, answering only to you.

You have up to seven votes for the Senate. I'm asking for one of your seven.

— Nellie

How to vote for Nellie

St. Croix elects seven (7) senators, so every voter can choose up to seven names. Here's all you do:

  1. In the St. Croix Senate section of your ballot, look for Nereida "Nellie" Rivera-O'Reilly (independent).
  2. Fill in the oval next to her name.
  3. You don't have to use all seven votes — but make one of them Nellie.

Ballot positions are drawn August 25, 2026. After that, we'll show you exactly where to find Nellie on your ballot — her number and her spot.

First, make sure you can vote

Check your registration — it takes about 60 seconds. The rolls have changed since 2024, so don't assume you're still on it.

  • Check your status: vivote.gov - Elections System of the Virgin Islands
  • Register in person: ESVI Office, Sunny Isle Shopping Center, Unit 26, St. Croix. Bring an original document — birth certificate, U.S. passport, DD-214, or naturalization certificate. (Copies are not accepted.)
  • Last day to register for the November election: October 4, 2026. Don't wait for the last day.

Three ways to cast your vote

1. Early voting — October 12–26, 2026
No lines, no Election-Day rush. Vote early!

2. Election Day — Tuesday, November 3, 2026
Polls are open from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm at your assigned polling place. Not sure where you vote? Check at vivote.gov.

3. Absentee — for Crucians off-island and anyone who qualifies
Living stateside or away for school, work, or the military? You can still vote.

  • Absentee applications open September 8, 2026
  • Deadline to request a mailed absentee ballot: October 20, 2026
  • Emailed absentee ballots are due by 5:00 p.m. on November 3, 2026

The island still needs you. Request an absentee ballot!
